The showground boasts six spacious, grass equine rings and an impressive Main Arena. The Hereford and Ledbury Rings were supported by T A Matthews Solicitors in 2024.
Over 290 equine showing and show jumping classes are held at the show and there are over 2,750 entries from many of the country’s top competitors each year. The carriage driving and heavy horse (Ridden & In Harness) are particular highlights for visitors.
Each year, the Royal Three Counties Show hosts prestigious Horse of the Year Show qualifying classes, which means you’ll be watching some of the best horses and ponies in the country compete to gain a spot in on of the UK’s most significant national championships.The Royal Three Counties Show host 53 HOYS qualifying classes in 2025. Vittoria Panizzon Demonstrations
Italian equestrian and three-time Olympian, Vittoria Panizzon, shared her expertise and skill during a demo, Q&A session and a course walk at the show in 2024.
The Stableyard
Visitors have the opportunity to get up close and personal with our equine friends. Worcester Riding School hosted a variety of fun activities for families and the Pony Racing Authority returned to the show again in 2024 with Equicizer machines, giving children the chance to experience the thrill of race riding and the chance to race against one another on mechanical horses.
Showjumping
Royal Three Counties Show runs a full schedule of British Showjumping Affiliated Show Jumping classes over the three days in the dedicated Cotswold Ring. The jumps start at 85cm high and will go up to 1.40m.
This ring will also hosts driving classes and will have a grandstand to optimise viewing.
Royal Three Counties hosted two qualifying classes for the new 1.25m Four Show Challenge (sponsored by the Three Counties Agricultural Society) in 2024 – with the final taking place in September at Moreton Show.
Two show jumping classes take place in the Main Ring each year – with a 2-fence Challenge on Friday and a 6-Bar on Saturday. These classes are always popular with competitors and spectators. Find out more here.
Racehorse to Riding Horse Parade
Magnificent races horses in training and retrained racehorses paraded around the Main Arena for the first time in 2024. Visitors could see 24 year old Miko de Beauchene, winner of the 2007 Welsh Grand National and (TBC) Retrained Racehorse of the Year 2024, Que Sera, now 14 years old.
The Parade was also joined by Pony Racing jockeys and their ponies and children and staff from HEROS.
Cotswold based racehorse trainer, Richard Phillips added a running commentary to the parade, along with Chief Executive and founder of HEROS Charity, Grace Muir and Marcus Armitage (TBC), winner of the 1990 Grand National riding Mr Frisk.
The first year Racehorse to Riding Horse classes were held at RTCS was 2005.
